WHAT IS PROPOLIS?

Propolis is a natural substance made by bees from plant resins collected from various plants, particularly trees such as conifers and poplars. Bees mix these resins with beeswax, saliva and other secretions to create propolis. It is used to seal and protect the hive by blocking cracks, holes and other potential openings. However, when the elements needed to naturally make propolis are unavailable, bees may resort to substances such as tar, varnish and mineral oils. This is why we favor a Gentle Beekeeping® approach, which guarantees an extremely fresh propolis harvest. This harvest is carried out using an exclusive French wooden inner cover, with no use of plastic materials. This method ensures an organic propolis of exceptional cleanliness and purity, with no waxy residue. What's more, this propolis harvest is carried out with respect for the bees. The process is overseen by a qualified quality expert, covering checks for freshness, the presence of parasites and the detection of chemical residues.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BLACK PROPOLIS AND WHITE PROPOLIS?

White propolis is a water-based extract obtained by macerating propolis in spring water. Black propolis, on the other hand, is an alcohol-based extract obtained by macerating propolis in organic spirit. White propolis, just as effective as black propolis, has the advantage of being alcohol-free and suitable for people who cannot consume alcohol, such as children.

Who is alcohol-free white propolis for?

Thanks to its completely alcohol-free formula, Ballot-Flurin white propolis is designed to suit the whole family, including the most sensitive groups: children from 36 months, pregnant women, breastfeeding women, or adults who simply prefer not to consume alcohol on a daily basis.
