The Ballot-Flurin Bee Factory

An eco-friendly manufacturing site

Minimalist constructive principle

The first factory that is also an organic living space, built on the principles of an ecosystem. It is designed like a beehive, radiating energy outward. It is a business that is also a place to live, with a house, a kitchen, a garden, a living room, and a terrace.

This site was once an abandoned industrial wasteland, the ruins of the Lassalle joinery, built in 1820 and left derelict for decades. Olivier RAUD, drawing on the inspiration of sacred geometry, truly transformed this site. The place has a distinctive architecture: spaces have been recreated and partitioned using a single unit of measurement — the Langstroth measurement, the measurement of the hive. Everything is made from noble materials: earth and stone for the walls, lime for the floor, wood, and metal.

We harvest and grow our own plants

The garden at the Ballot-Flurin site, built on the complementary relationship between beekeeping and plant production, favors an approach based on floral diversity and its conservation. The organization of this garden reflects the company's overall approach of fostering synergy between the different components of the ecosystem.

We are makers & energizers

At Ballot-Flurin, the dream machine of the 21st century is the hand! A preparation shaped by the human hand and professional conscientiousness will always carry something extra: a love of a job well done! Our production is handcrafted and deeply natural. Our methods are non-destructive and low in energy consumption. Raised in a family of doctors specializing in natural health for three generations, Catherine Flurin favors gentle methods at every stage of preparation and packaging, methods that preserve and enhance the effect of these precious beekeeping materials. In our organic and sensitive factory, unique in the world, we work in a gentle and clean way, in a single place that supports nature, life, and all living things.
